2 Chronicles 7:14

14 if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.

Street Pastors

We pray for the Street Pastors out in Glasgow on Friday and Saturday nights.

We pray for divine appointments, that the Street Pastors will be used to tell others of Jesus.

We pray that they will see lives touched and changed.

We pray that as they walk the streets God will give us the city for his glory,

We pray for every place their feet tread.

Lord, continue to bless this ministry amongst the people of Glasgow and let your Sovereign will be done.

Influences on Young People

We pray for young people and the things that influence them, friends, the media, magazines, internet sites, teachers, churches, advertising.

Lord our young people have so much information overload around them that it can be so difficult for them to make wise choices and stay safe emotionally, physically and spiritually.

Lord we pray for strong positive role models in the media, in their schools, in their social lives and in their families.

Lord we pray in Jesus’ name against the powers that are working against young people from taking the right paths.

We pray particularly for Christian families and their children that you will keep the Scripture that they have been taught in their hearts and keep drawing them to yourself.

Lord, keep our children safe, in Jesus’ name we ask.

Families

We thank God for families. We thank God for the blessings of children, siblings, parents, our wider families and our friends that are as close as family.

We pray for those who are lonely or estranged from their family.

We pray that the council and those who make decisions support healthy family values in their policies and provision.

We pray for schools as they support families.

We think of those in our communities who struggle in their family environment and particularly for those children who do not have a happy home.

God grant peace, comfort, wisdom, reconciliation and love in these situations.

Other requests from previous weeks:

Elections

Lord, may Your sovereign will be done.

Trafficking, refugees and Asylum seekers

Lord God, may Glasgow be a welcoming place for all those who need help and asylum. May it be a city of freedom for those caught in slavery.

Churches

Lord flood the churches of Glasgow with your Holy Spirit, and give them a renewed sense of Your vision for them.

Lord, may Your people come to You in prayer, united.

Lord we pray that your Holy Spirit will rain down over Glasgow, change our hearts as we stand on your word.

Other prayer requests from around the city and the world:

Murders in France

Thanks for the miraculous healing of the footballer Fabrice Muamba and the great witness this gives to answered prayer.

We pray for the Budget and those affected by financial changes that this will bring.

Sean Rooney, 15 years old, rare form of cancer

Robert, 32 years old, liver failure and only 3 months to live

Lord, there are many hurting people across our city and the world.  May you fill them with you love, show compassion, give peace and bring comfort in their time of need.
