Prayer for the City Glasgow Thursday 28th March 2013

2 Chronicles 7:14
14 if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.

We pray for the city of Glasgow, that God moves in all His power and majesty, and the people of Glasgow will humble themselves and turn from their wicked ways and that we will see our city healed and restored.

We pray for the community of Anderston, that God will continue to use The Salvation Army in ministry and in reaching out to our community.
We pray for protection for the corps (church) from the attacks of the evil one.  We claim the victory that is ours in Christ, that we will be bold in our vision, and even bolder in our faith that God will provide.
We pray for souls to be won for the kingdom, in the community of Anderston.  
We pray for the physical health of our fellowship, that God will send his healing power upon us.
We pray for the church fellowship as they continue to work together for the sake of the gospel in Anderston that they will be blessed in abundance in these days.
We pray that God will bless us with more growth.
We pray for our Children’s work, and that we will see this continue to grow, and see new children come to our clubs, and that they will be won for the kingdom.
We pray for Sarah as she works in Anderston Primary School as a chaplain.  We pray that there are opportunities to minister the gospel to the staff and pupils.  We pray for the success and growth of Sarah’s school choir, that more children will want to join this.
We pray for our Easter Service, that the people of the community will respond to the invitation to celebrate Easter with us.  We pray for souls to be won.
We pray for the united churches march of witness through Glasgow on Easter Friday.  We pray that the Spirit will prepare our hearts and minds and that this will be a powerful testimony of the Cross.  We pray that through this, people will be saved.
We pray for Matt as he returns to work, that God will give him strength to sustain the work he does in the name of the gospel.  We pray for blessings on his work in the Lifehouses (Hostels), and that he is used to lead people to Christ.
We pray for Matt & Sarah, and the leadership team, as they continue to plan and to minister in the community.  We pray for protection.  We pray for Gods spirit to guide and lead them.  We pray for opportunities to share the gospel.  We pray for grace, mercy, tolerance, patience and love to be abounding in all we do.

We pray for the work with the homeless and vulnerable in Glasgow.  We pray that God will bless those who minister to the homeless.  Grant them grace, mercy and love, and give them a renewed strength and hope as they minister Gods love to those that they meet.  We thank God for the opportunities of ministry between Glasgow City Centre Corps and the Salvation Army Lifehouses (Hostels), and that we will be open to the leading of the Spirit in being bold for the Gospel.  We pray for those who are going to have nowhere to shelter after this weekend when the night shelters close.  We pray that they are safe.  We pray that the church works together to support those impacted by homelessness and gives them a voice to speak out.
  
We pray for Bobby as he leads The Salvation Army’s sports ministry work in Scotland.  We pray that he knows the power, peace and patience of God in his life in these days.  May he have a Holy courage to spread the name of Jesus through sport.  We pray for Matt Oliver and the More Than Gold team as they prepare the response of the Church to the commonwealth games in 2014.  May God protect him, bless him and guard his heart and mind from the attacks of the evil won.  We pray for God’s provision in abundance in Matt & his families lives in these days.

We pray for our Christian brothers and sisters in Anderston Kelivngrove Parish Church.  We pray particularly for their ministry with the elderly of our community.  We pray for their ministry in the local sheltered housing complex, that God will bless this and that people will be saved through this.  We pray for the ministry of the Curam Centre Lunch Club each week.  We give thanks for the volunteers who continue to work hard for the sake of others.  May God bless them all richly.  We pray for the Afternoon Tea Club recently started, and pray for God’s had to be upon this, and this is will be another opportunity to share the love of God with our community.  We pray for night shelter for Asylum seekers that will be starting on Sunday.

We pray that Christians in Glasgow will be bold in their proclamation of the gospel, and the name of Jesus.  We pray that they will have a Holy courage in not just showing their faith, but in speaking about it too.

Lord, there are many hurting people across our city and the world.  May you fill them with your love, show compassion, give peace and bring comfort in their time of need.

We pray for the community of Anderston, that God will continue to use The Salvation Army in ministry and in reaching out to our community.
We pray for protection for the corps (church) from the attacks of the evil one.  We claim the victory that is ours in Christ, that we will be bold in our vision, and even bolder in our faith that God will provide.
We pray for souls to be won for the kingdom, in the community of Anderston.  
We pray for the physical health of our fellowship, that God will send his healing power upon us.
We pray for Matt as he continues to recover from surgery to have is appendix removed, and that the healing power of Christ will be upon him.  We pray for Sarah as she looks after Matt and continues to juggle the demands of ministry and home life during this time.  We pray for peace, patience and blessings upon them both and the children in these days.
We pray for John, Jim & Sue and the rest of the family in these days.
We pray for the church fellowship as they continue to work together for the sake of the gospel in Anderston that they will be blessed in abundance in these days.
We pray that God will bless us with more growth.
