Prayer for the City Glasgow Thursday 25th April 2013

2 Chronicles 7:14
14 if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.

We pray for the city of Glasgow, that God moves in all His power and majesty, and the people of Glasgow will humble themselves and turn from their wicked ways and that we will see our city healed and restored.

We pray for the community of Anderston, that God will continue to use The Salvation Army in ministry and in reaching out to our community.
We pray for protection for the corps (church) from the attacks of the evil one.  We claim the victory that is ours in Christ, that we will be bold in our vision, and even bolder in our faith that God will provide.
We pray for souls to be won for the kingdom, in the community of Anderston.
We pray for the physical health of our fellowship, that God will send his healing power upon us.
We pray for our Children’s work, and that we will see this continue to grow, and see new children come to our clubs, and that they will be won for the kingdom.
We pray for Sarah as she works in Anderston Primary School as a chaplain.  We pray that there are opportunities to minister the gospel to the staff and pupils.  We pray for the success and growth of Sarah’s school choir, that more children will want to join this.
We pray for Matt and for blessings on his work in the Lifehouses (Hostels), and that he is used to lead people to Christ.
We pray for the meeting with the architect today about our new building that this will be positive and constructive.  We pray for Robert McNair as he manages and leads the building project that God will give him strength and wisdom, and a passion for this project to see God’s vision to be realised.

We pray for the work with the homeless and vulnerable in Glasgow.  We pray that God will bless those who minister to the homeless.  Grant them grace, mercy and love, and give them a renewed strength and hope as they minister Gods love to those that they meet.  We thank God for the opportunities of ministry between Glasgow City Centre Corps and the Salvation Army Lifehouses (Hostels).  We pray that we will be open to the leading of the Spirit in being bold for the Gospel.  We pray that the church works together to support those impacted by homelessness and gives them a voice to speak out.

We pray for Bobby Weir as he leads The Salvation Army’s sports ministry work in Scotland.  We pray that he knows the power, peace and patience of God in his life in these days.  May he have a Holy courage to spread the name of Jesus through sport.

We pray for our Christian brothers and sisters in Anderston Kelivngrove Parish Church.  We pray particularly for their ministry with the elderly of our community.  We pray for their ministry in the local sheltered housing complex, that God will bless this and that people will be saved through this.  We pray for the ministry of the Curam Centre Lunch Club each week.  We give thanks for the volunteers who continue to work hard for the sake of others.  May God bless them all richly.  We pray for the Afternoon Tea Club recently started, and pray for God’s hand to be upon this, and this is will be another opportunity to share the love of God with our community.  We pray for the night shelter for Asylum seekers.  We pray for the impact that this has in our local community.  We pray that in all they do, they will be directed by the Spirit.

We pray that Christians in Glasgow will be bold in their proclamation of the gospel, and the name of Jesus.  We pray that they will have a Holy courage in not just showing their faith, but in speaking about it too.
