Prayer for the City Glasgow Thursday 27th February 2014

2 Chronicles 7:14
14 if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.

We pray for the city of Glasgow, that God moves in power and majesty, and the people of Glasgow will humble themselves and turn from their wicked ways and that we will see our city healed and restored.

We pray for the community of Anderston, that God will continue to use The Salvation Army in ministry and in reaching out to our community.
We pray for protection for the corps (church) from the attacks of the evil one.  We claim the victory that is ours in Christ and that we will be bold in our vision, and even bolder in our faith that God will provide.
We pray for souls to be won for the kingdom in the community of Anderston.
We pray for the physical health of our fellowship, that God will send his healing power upon us.
We pray for the children we work with and minister to in our kids clubs, and in the schools. We pray for Godly influences in their lives. We give thanks for the changes we can see in some of our young people.
We pray for Sarah as she works in Anderston Primary School as a chaplain.  We pray that there are opportunities to minister the gospel to the staff and pupils.
We pray for Matt and for blessings on his work in the Lifehouses (Hostels), and that he is used to lead people to Christ.  We give thanks for all the conversations about faith that Matt is having in these days, and pray God’s spirit to be in those, and moving in powerful ways. We pray for the new focus on chaplaincy for Matt on a Thursday, and that this will open new ministries.
We pray for the paper ministry each week.  We give thanks to God for the generosity of the people of Glasgow.  We pray that the people we come into contact with will be impacted for the kingdom through the reading of the paper, and that the conversations that we have will be kingdom building.
We give thanks for the new links we are establishing into our community, and influencing people and decisions for the kingdom.

We pray for the work with the homeless and vulnerable in Glasgow.  We pray that God will bless those who minister to the homeless.  Grant them grace, mercy and love, and give them a renewed strength and hope as they minister God’s love to those that they meet.  We thank God for the opportunities of ministry between Glasgow City Centre Corps and the Salvation Army Lifehouses (Hostels).  We pray that we will be open to the leading of the Spirit in being bold for the Gospel.  We pray that the church works together to support those impacted by homelessness and gives them a voice to speak out. We pray for the night shelter in the city.

We pray for our Christian brothers and sisters in Anderston Kelvingrove Parish Church,    New Life Church, Saint Patricks, the True Jesus Chinese Church and in Finneston Evangelical Church.  We pray for God’s protection on them in these days in all that they are doing in the name of the gospel.  We pray that God will continue to guide and lead them in what He wants them to be doing in the community.
We pray for Matt Oliver and the team at More Than Gold.  We pray for the plans and conversations they are engaged in to impact the city of Glasgow for the gospel.

We pray for Martyn, and the plans for community work in Anderston.

We pray for Shirley Berry and her team, and the work of Findlay Family Network & Bethany Christian Trust across the city in working with families.

We pray for the work of the Cinnamon Network as it seeks to support churches in reaching out to their local community.
