Prayer Topics 27.09.2012

2 Chronicles 7:14
14 if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.

Benefits System Changes
We pray for those in Governments making decisions about changes to the benefits system.  We pray that they have wisdom and guidance in making these decisions.  We pray for strong Christian influences on the people who are making these decisions.  We pray for the families and lives of those that are going to be impacted by the proposed changes.  We pray that the Church will respond strongly and positively to the needs of those who are impacted.  We pray for those who have already been impacted by changes already implemented.  We pray that God will provide for their needs, both physical and Spiritual.  We pray for the families in Glasgow who struggle to make ends meet, and rely on food parcels to be able to feed their family.  We pray that God will provide.  We pray that the Church will show love and kindness, grace, mercy and compassion to all who are in need.

Domestic Violence
We pray in the name of Jesus, for all the victims of all types of domestic violence.  In the name of Jesus we renounce the evil of all types of domestic violence, physical, emotional, psychological, and spiritual. We pray for healing of all victims of any domestic abuse.  We pray for forgiveness for those who commit such acts.  We pray for awakening in the church, and for Christian men to rise up and be a voice against this.  We pray that Christian men will not be blinded by ignorance, and that they will be examples of love in action to their families, not just to those they minister too.  Open their eyes to see that the negative actions and words in how they treat their wives and children are just as painful as physical violence.  We pray for those who work as Christian counsellors in this field, that they will be protected by the Spirit, and that they will be able to me ministers of the hope of Jesus to those they serve.

City Centre
We pray for the City Centre of Glasgow.  We pray for forgiveness for those who took part in the rioting last week.  We pray that they will know God and mans mercy and grace in these days.  We pray for the peace of the Spirit to be upon our city streets.  We pray for protection for the emergency services who serve our city.  We pray for the businesses in our city centre, that they will respond to the growing needs and social issues in our city in a positive way.  We pray for Christians who work in the City Centre, that they will be protected from attack.  We pray that they will be positive role models to their colleagues, and also that they will be ministers of grace and love.

Human Trafficking
We pray for the victims of this horrific crime.  We pray for an end to the day when this is still in our society.  We pray for healing for the victims.  We pray for restoration of families.  We pray forgiveness and justice for the perpetrators of these crimes.  We pray for Christians at the frontline of fighting this, that they will be protected by the Spirit, that they will be filled with grace, mercy and compassion.  We claim the victory over the evil one in this issue. We pray for wisdom and guidance for the politicians in our country who are attempting to bring new legislation into being to protect victims of trafficking.  We pray that there will be support across all groups to fight this and that the church will have a strong voice in the consultation.




Thy Kingdom Come
We pray that God’s Kingdom comes in Glasgow.  We pray that we see the day of Salvation today.  We pray for the Spirit to move and shake up this City.  We boldly pray for more souls to be saved, and that more will come to know the love of God and that they will recognise their need for Christ as their Saviour.  God we cry out to you for revival in our City.  We cry out to you for revival – today.

We pray that Glasgow will once again flourish by the preaching of the Word, and the praising of His name.

The Word
We pray that God’s word becomes a reality for our City, and that Justice and Mercy will be evident in all areas of our society.  We pray that Christians in Glasgow will be God colours in their communities.  We pray that churches will be light in their communities.

Community
We pray for the communities in the city of Glasgow.  We pray that churches will work together to bring hope and light.  We pray for the power of the Spirit to be upon our churches and that they will be a place from where communities can be served, and from where we can go out and be Jesus in our communities.

We pray for those who have recently changed their lifestyle, e.g. from drugs and prostitution, that they may have Christian influences in their lives.

We pray for Robert, a new Christian.

We pray for Fraser.

We pray for families going through times of stress.

Just Pray!

Domestic Violence
We pray in the name of Jesus, for all the victims of all types of domestic violence.  In the name of Jesus we renounce the evil of all types of domestic violence, physical, emotional, psychological, and spiritual. We pray for police officers across the country at this time, that in these days where there minds have been focussed by events in Manchester, that you will protect them, and guard them.  We pray that you will bring comfort to the families and friends of the officers who were killed.  We pray specifically for the police officers in Glasgow.  We give you thanks for their dedication and service to the City.  We pray that they will be protected by the power of the Spirit of God.  We pray that you will guide their paths in your ways.  We pray for the relationship between our communities and the police.  May they be a relationship founded on trust and respect.  We pray for the churches interaction with our police officers, may we encourage, may we have opportunity for ministry to and with the officers who serve our communities.  We pray for Christian officers, and ask that you guide them and watch over them in these days.  Give them the words to say, and a boldness to speak the Gospel in their own situations.

Breathe - Time to pray!?

2 Chronicles 7:14

Human Trafficking
We pray for the victims of this horrific crime.  We pray for an end to the day when this is still in our society.  We pray for healing for the victims.  We pray for restoration of families.  We pray forgiveness and justice for the perpetrators of these crimes.  We pray for Christians at the frontline of fighting this, that they will be protected by the Spirit, that they will be filled with grace, mercy and compassion.  We claim the victory over the evil one in this issue. We pray for wisdom and guidance for the politicians in our country who are attempting to bring new legistlation into being to protect victims of trafficking.  We pray that there will be support across all groups to fight this and that the church will have a strong voice in the consultation.

Poverty
We pray for all those whose lives are impacted by poverty.  We pray for all those who are worrying about where their next meal will come from, we pray for God’s provision to be seen in all of those situations.  We pray for all children who are impacted by poverty.  We pray for all those who are vulnerable to losing their homes because of poverty.  We pray for Christians to be motivated to stand up and be counted in meeting the needs of the poorest, and most vulnerable in our City. 

God help us as Christians to never get caught up in wanting more and prosperity of our wallets, over wanting more of Christ.  Help us as the Church to be a church of the poor rather than just a church that serves the poor.

We pray that the imbalance of wealth and poverty will be removed.  We pray that those in the church in Glasgow who have been blessed with wealth will use this wisely and in line with the will of God, and ensure that this is used for Kingdom building, and meeting the needs of our City and community.

Poverty
We pray for all those whose lives are impacted by poverty.  We pray for all those who are worrying about where their next meal will come from, we pray for God’s provision to be seen in all of those situations.  We pray for all children who are impacted by poverty.  We pray for all those who are vulnerable to losing their homes because of poverty.  We pray for Christians to be motivated to stand up and be counted in meeting the needs of the poorest, and most vulnerable in our City.  We pray for courage to speak up against the in-justice that means the rich get richer and the poor get poorer.  We pray that the church in our City will respond with love in action.

We pray for the community of Anderston.  We pray that as the churches in the community continue to work together for the Kingdom, we will see a transformation take place in the lives of those who live in this community.  We pray for justice, mercy, love & hope to be at the centre of all that we do.  We pray for the protection of the Spirit from the attacks of the evil one.  We pray that any footholds he has within our community and churches will be bound in the name of Jesus and be broken in Jesus name, that we will know a freedom of the Spirit in Anderston.

Unemployment & The Economy
We pray for those who have recently lost their jobs.  We pray for those who have been out of work for some time, and are struggling to be positive in these days.  We pray for a renewal of their spirit.  We pray for the economic situation in our City.  We pray that the Church will respond to the needs of the poorest and most affected by the worsening economic situation.  God help us as Christians to never get caught up in wanting more and prosperity of our wallets, over wanting more of Christ.  Help us as the Church to be a church of the poor rather than just a church that serves the poor.

We pray that all people will be paid a fair wage for the work that they do.  We pray that Christian businesses and Christian’s who can influence these decisions will lead the way in this area in this City, and across Scotland.  We pray that the leaders of the churches in Glasgow will take the lead in this and that those who work for the church will all be paid a fair and living wage.
