Prayer for the City Glasgow Thursday 28th February 2013

2 Chronicles 7:14
14 if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.

We pray for the city of Glasgow, that God moves in all His power and majesty, and the people of Glasgow will humble themselves and turn from their wicked ways and that we will see our city healed and restored.

We pray for the community of Anderston, that God will continue to use The Salvation Army in ministry and in reaching out to our community.
We pray for protection for the corps (church) from the attacks of the evil one.  We claim the victory that is ours in Christ, that we will be bold in our vision, and even bolder in our faith that God will provide.
We pray for souls to be won for the kingdom, in the community of Anderston.
We pray for Matt as he continues to recover from surgery to have is appendix removed, and that the healing power of Christ will be upon him.  We pray for Sarah as she looks after Matt and continues to juggle the demands of ministry and home life during this time.  We pray for peace, patience and blessings upon them both and the children in these days.
We pray for the planning meeting for the new building tomorrow, and that God will be in the discussions, and that there will be a unity and urgency in moving this forward to get the building work started as soon as possible.
We pray for the church fellowship as they continue to work together for the sake of the gospel in Anderston that they will be blessed in abundance in these days.
We pray for the developing relationships between the churches in Anderston, and that we work together for the Salvation of the community.
We pray that God will bless us with more growth.
We pray for our Breathe worship event, and that people will come to this and experience God in deeper ways.
We pray for God’s guidance as we look to partner with other Christian organisations in Glasgow City Centre as we look to meet the needs of our community.
We pray for Sarah as she works in Anderston Primary School as a chaplain.  We pray that there are opportunities to minister the gospel to the staff and pupils.  We pray for the success and growth of Sarah’s school choir, that more children will want to join this.
We pray for Matt & Sarah, and the leadership team, as they continue to plan and to minister in the community.  We pray for protection.  We pray for Gods spirit to guide and lead them.  We pray for opportunities to share the gospel.  We pray for grace, mercy, tolerance, patience and love to be abounding in all we do.

We pray for the work with the homeless and vulnerable in Glasgow.  We pray that God will bless those who minister to the homeless.  Grant them grace, mercy and love, and give them a renewed strength and hope as they minister Gods love to those that they meet.  We pray for the opportunities of ministry between Glasgow City Centre Corps and the Salvation Army Lifehouses (Hostels), and that we will be open to the leading of the Spirit in being bold for the Gospel.

We pray for Martyn, and the work of the Cinnamon Network in Glasgow, and Scotland.  We pray that God’s hand and blessings will be upon it.  We pray for emerging relationships between the network and other Christian organisations, that there will be a huge transformation of lives for the gospel.

We pray that Christians in Glasgow will be bold in their proclamation of the gospel, and the name of Jesus.  We pray that they will have a Holy courage in not just showing their faith, but in speaking about it too.
