Prayer
for the City Glasgow Thursday 24th January 2013
2 Chronicles 7:14
14 if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves
and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear
from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.
We pray for the city of Glasgow, that God moves
in all His power and majesty, and the people of Glasgow will humble
themselves and turn from their wicked ways and that we will see our city healed
and restored.
We pray for the community of Anderston, that
God will continue to use The Salvation Army in ministry and in reaching out to
our community.
We pray for protection for the corps (church)
from the attacks of the evil one. We claim the victory that is ours
in Christ, that we will be bold in our vision, and even bolder in our
faith that God will provide.
We pray for souls to be won for the kingdom, in
the community of Anderston.
We pray for the health of our church family.
We pray for Matt, Sam and Elise that they will know Gods healing power,
and that Sarah will be protected from becoming ill. We pray for their ministry
at Govan this weekend, and for Martyn as he leads worship at the church this
week.
We give thanks to God for the growth we have seen
in our fellowship. We thank God for the blessings He has poured out upon
us. We pray for more.

We give thanks that God has allowed Matt & Sarah to be part of a very

have the opportunities to speak the gospel, and lead people to Christ.
We pray for Matt & Sarah, and the leadership
team, as they continue to plan and to minister in the community. We pray
for protection. We pray for Gods spirit to guide and lead them. We
pray for opportunities to share the gospel. We pray for grace, mercy,
tolerance, patience and love to be abounding in all we do. We pray God will
guide potential partnerships with other churches and groups as we seek to serve
our community and strive to be ministers of the
We give thanks to God that the building work will
commence this year. We pray for the process and building to go smoothly,
and that God will be honoured in the building of this beacon of light in our
community.
We pray for the work with the homeless and
vulnerable in Glasgow. We pray that God will bless those who minister to
the homeless. Grant them grace, mercy and love, and give them a renewed
strength and hope as they minister Gods love to those that they meet. We
pray for the opportunities of ministry between Glasgow City Centre Corps and
the Salvation Army Lifehouses (Hostels), and that we will be open to
the leading of the Spirit in being bold for the Gospel. We pray for
Matt as he ministers to the residents and staff of the Lifehouses.
We pray that Christians in Glasgow will be
bold in their proclamation of the gospel, and the name of Jesus. We pray
that they will have a Holy courage in not just showing their faith, but in
speaking about it too.
God, thank
you for taking the time to listen to our prayers. Thank you for
taking the time to answer them. We pray that we will always seek your
heart, and listen to your voice in our prayers. Empower us by Your
Spirit Lord, thatwe will pray without ceasing. Protect us Father
from becoming discouraged, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from
evil, because this is your kingdom, and for your glory and honour.
Amen.
