Just Pray!

2 Chronicles 7:14
14 if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.

Domestic Violence
We pray in the name of Jesus, for all the victims of all types of domestic violence.  In the name of Jesus we renounce the evil of all types of domestic violence, physical, emotional, psychological, and spiritual. We pray for healing of all victims of any domestic abuse.  We pray for forgiveness for those who commit such acts.  We pray for awakening in the church, and for Christian men to rise up and be a voice against this.  We pray that Christian men will not be blinded by ignorance, and that they will be examples of love in action to their families, not just to those they minister too.  Open their eyes to see that the negative actions and words in how they treat their wives and children are just as painful as physical violence.  We pray for those who work as Christian counsellors in this field, that they will be protected by the Spirit, and that they will be able to me ministers of the hope of Jesus to those they serve.

The Police
We pray for police officers across the country at this time, that in these days where there minds have been focussed by events in Manchester, that you will protect them, and guard them.  We pray that you will bring comfort to the families and friends of the officers who were killed.  We pray specifically for the police officers in Glasgow.  We give you thanks for their dedication and service to the City.  We pray that they will be protected by the power of the Spirit of God.  We pray that you will guide their paths in your ways.  We pray for the relationship between our communities and the police.  May they be a relationship founded on trust and respect.  We pray for the churches interaction with our police officers, may we encourage, may we have opportunity for ministry to and with the officers who serve our communities.  We pray for Christian officers, and ask that you guide them and watch over them in these days.  Give them the words to say, and a boldness to speak the Gospel in their own situations.

Human Trafficking
We pray for the victims of this horrific crime.  We pray for an end to the day when this is still in our society.  We pray for healing for the victims.  We pray for restoration of families.  We pray forgiveness and justice for the perpetrators of these crimes.  We pray for Christians at the frontline of fighting this, that they will be protected by the Spirit, that they will be filled with grace, mercy and compassion.  We claim the victory over the evil one in this issue. We pray for wisdom and guidance for the politicians in our country who are attempting to bring new legistlation into being to protect victims of trafficking.  We pray that there will be support across all groups to fight this and that the church will have a strong voice in the consultation.

Thy Kingdom Come
We pray that God’s Kingdom comes in Glasgow.  We pray that we see the day of Salvation today.  We pray for the Spirit to move and shake up this City.  We boldly pray for more souls to be saved, and that more will come to know the love of God and that they will recognise their need for Christ as their Saviour.  God we cry out to you for revival in our City.  We cry out to you for revival – today.

We pray that Glasgow will once again flourish by the preaching of the Word, and the praising of His name.

The Word
We pray that God’s word becomes a reality for our City, and that Justice and Mercy will be evident in all areas of our society.  We pray that Christians in Glasgow will be God colours in their communities.  We pray that churches will be light in their communities.

Community
We pray for the communities in the city of Glasgow.  We pray that churches will work together to bring hope and light.  We pray for the power of the Spirit to be upon our churches and that they will be a place from where communities can be served, and from where we can go out and be Jesus in our communities.

  1. [Praying for you in Glasgow. Here is my sincere request. May the Lord bless you all.]

A Christian minister with a broken heart asks for prayer for his only child - a wayward daughter on the West Coast of the US who's been living with an older man. On Sep. 24th she is having surgery to save her life from what appears to be cancer. PLEASE PLEASE pray that Jolene will survive and finally be drawn to Jesus! (The same minister has an aneurysm near his heart that needs a healing miracle.)
