Urgent Prayer Required - 26.04.12 prayer topics

2 Chronicles 7:14

14 if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.

Community

In our own community of Anderston, in the Glasgow City Centre area, there are a growing number of instances where there is not unity in our community.  There have been incidents of vandalism of property, and people feeling unsafe in their community.
This is a work of the prince of darkness.  We must pray against this.  We must pray God’s light into the darkness.

The local elections are nearly upon us.  The results of these will have a direct impact on our communities.  We pray that the local councillors who work tirelessly for our community and work hard for the greater good of the community will be voted back in.  We pray that those who are in it for their own sake, and for the greed of power will be shown that it is only the service of others that should be their primary goal, rather than self.
We pray for fairness in the local elections, and that God’s will be done, not mans.

We pray for the issues that impact our Community, the economic situation, the care of the elderly (which is still in the news), for our Schools, for the churches that aim to serve in mission the communities in which they are situated.  We pray God will be seen in each of those areas, and that He will raise up Christians who are passionate about making a difference where they are, in each of these areas.
Church Leaders

We continue to pray for church leaders this week.
We pray that they are encouraged in their Spirits, and are able to connect with the God who has called them to be where they are for such a time as this.

We pray that church leaders listen to God, and hear what He is saying to them.
We pray that church leaders act on what God tells them to do.

We pray that church leaders will work together for the good of the Kingdom.
We pray that God will protect church leaders from the attacks of the Devil, both spiritual and physical.

We pray for the health of our church leaders.
We pray for the families of our church leaders, that God will protect them and keep them safe.

Glasgow
We continue to pray for the City of Glasgow.  There is a lot happening in our City at the moment, and there are many changes taking place.

We pray for the local council elections.  We pray that God will have His hand on these.
We pray for the changing economic situation that is impacting on all areas of life in the city.

We pray for the issue of homelessness in Glasgow.  We pray that the church responds to this in the way that Jesus would.  We pray that we will reach out and be the hands of Jesus to those impacted by homelessness.  We pray for their safety and protection.
We pray for the preparations that are taking place for the 2014 Commenwealth Games.  We pray that the church will serve the city during this period.  We pray that we will seek to bring God’s love to the City and the visitors who will be in the City.

We pray boldly for the light and love of God to shine in the darkness.  We pray that people will come to know Jesus as their saviour and friend.  We pray for God’s Kingdom to reign in and over the City of Glasgow.
We pray that Glasgow will flourish by the preaching of the word, and the praising of His name.

Thy Kingdom Come
We pray that there is a real and tangible moving of the Spirit in our City.

We claim that God’s Kingdom will Come.
We pray that souls will be won for the Kingdom, and that we will rejoice with the angels as men and women, boys and girls turn to God as their saviour.
